Jeeva Jose, a lecturer in computer science, is now travelling across the country to hold workshops on machine learning and Python, and has completed 35 training camps in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu besides various locations within the state.

Arguably, the first woman academician to publish a research on Python in India, Jose says that many in the field, including teachers, are even unaware of concepts.

“The preliminary aim of the training camps is to introduce people to machine learning and artificial intelligence,” she said.

Her works form part of the syllabus in several All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved universities.

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University in Lucknow, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University in West Bengal, Guru Nanak Dev University in Punjab, Punjab Central University, St Joseph College Trichy, Govt Women’s College Jammu, Central University Jammu, CV Raman College of Engineering Bhuvaneshwar, SB College Changanassery, University of Kerala and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeedom, Kollam are among the institutions across the country where the research by Jose is being used as study material.

Jose, who teaches computer application to MCA students, has also won a scholarship instituted by Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), New York, for young woman research scholars from developing countries. A doctorate holder from the Mahatma Gandhi University, the researcher has attended international conferences in the UK and Thailand as well.
