Description
I wish I could figure out a reasonably accurate date for this vintage piece of Custard (or ?Vaseline?) glass. It was in a box with some jadeite salt-and-pepper shakers that were quite old. I do not know who or what the "Kan's" advertising stands for--that would give me a clue to the age, but I'll have to keep researching old Minneapolis businesses. I would appreciate any information eBayers in-the-know could send me.Green Custard-glass pitcher stands 3 inches tall and has a scalloped circumference base with a diameter of 2.5 inches and a big sunburst centered in the middle of the bottom. Nine scallops protrude from the bottom circumference. four scallops protrude from half of the top...and there is gold in the trough or dip between the top scallops. On the side toward the bottom are nine vertical one-inch scallops. In red ink or paint, written in cursive: Minneapolis (with a bit of fade on the terminal letters "lis." Beneath that, in red: Kan's. Beneath that is a graceful swoop of green leaves with three red, elongated flower blossoms. This little pitcher has a lot of detail, and there are no chips or scratches or damage other than the faded letters I mentioned above. It's a beautiful vintage green Vaseline glass pitcher.
I'll mail this, carefully wrapped and insulated and stabilized, to anywhere in the USA via Priority, for .50, which will give us tracking and insurance.
