    Description

Vaseline Uranium Green Glass Coasters - Set of 4. Approximate dimensions - 3.25" in diameter, .6" in Height, depth of .5". This particular set was made by Federal Glass. Vaseline glass is translucent - under a black-light it has a neon green glowing color (I thought I had my black-light when taking these photos but realized I had picked up a regular one when I downloaded - yet you can still see they glow green). There's a saying in the collectible market about Vaseline glass - 'if it doesn't glow green, it's not Vaseline', it's always translucence (can be seen thru), has a yellow green 'oily' sheen to it. I believe these are blown glass (can't swear to it - I'm no glass expert) but has the tiny dot bubbles that are normally present in blown glass. These have a daisy pattern (it is called starburst) in center with an 'F' in a shield with 6 lines coming out from flower. They came from the estate of a friend's aunt - his Mother inherited them from her & after her passing he inherited them (I like to know the history of items so thought you might also). He was overwhelmed with the amount of her collection & so we did some trading for more modern items that he needed & I ended up with these & a great deal of other lovely glass items that span from the late 1800's to the 1970's ( I will be listing these sporadically, mainly because my eBay room is overflowing & the fact that I am very particular that items are packaged safely). I would consider these to be in excellent vintage condition - no chips, cracks, or crazing & very few wear marks (please View Photos - part of the description).
