    Description

(Please read the condition description in the next paragraph before purchasing) This is a very rare and beautiful art deco style vaseline uranium glass powder box. It is called "Peaked Penguins" and is very rare to find in green vaseline. Most are found in frosted pink glass. It features two penguins hugging on a steeply sloped roof. There appears to be something running down the roof under them, perhaps melting snow? The base is square with rounded protrusions in the middle of each side. On each side there is a penguin on each flat panel and a sun rising over water on the rounded protrusion (the sun is hard to see in most pictures but can be seen a little in picture 5). It sits on four L-shaped feet. It is not marked and it does fluoresce brightly under black light (see small insert in first picture). It is approximately 6" tall and 4.5" square.
There are numerous chips on this piece but there are no cracks. Please zoom in on all pictures. The seam that runs down the beak of the taller penguin has tiny chips (zoom in on picture 1). All four corners of the lid have small chips and there are tiny chips along the outer and inner rims of the lid. There are small chips along the inner and outer rim of the base and a larger chip inside the rim (see picture 12). There is a small ledge that runs around the bottom edge, just above the feet, and there are chips on all four corners of this ledge (pictures 6 through 9). There is also a chip on this ledge on one of the rounded protrusions (zoom in on picture 2). The feet have small chips on them as well. I have tried to show as many chips as possible in the pictures but I am limited to 12 pictures so I might not have pictured all of them. I did provide pictures of the largest chips. If you would like additional pictures, please feel free to message me.
