Remarkable Pair of Finely Engraved Vaseline Green Wine Glasses (very unusual!)
With only 2 of us at home and too little shelf space, we are cutting back on some treasured collectibles. This amazing pair of Vaseline Green wine glasses has a beautifully hand-engraved design featuring grape leaves, vines, grape clusters and spiral tendrils. Thin-walled and very fine, these are as fun to use as to look at. These are likely to be “uranium glass” but I do not have a black light to confirm it. Given to me by my grandparents, their condition would suggest that they did not see much use as drinking glasses. In the years I have owned them, they have always been on display, taken down for use only a couple of times.
While these handcrafted glasses are a perfectly matched pair, each is unique with slight variations and imperfections. The hand-engraving was beautifully done and really fun to look at. To my eye, these glasses are in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs. Please review the pictures carefully as they are an integral part of this description and the best way to judge condition. Because of the difficulty in capturing the etching and true color in photographs, I included photos from different angles. I used a black background for most photos in order to bring out the detail in the design.
Each glass is approximately 4 ½’ tall with a rim diameter of 2 ¾”. The glasses will be carefully wrapped and padded in bubble wrap for shipping.
