Hobbs Brockunier Vaseline Uranium Glass Snowstorm Bowl/Frame-Craquelle Victorian

A very scarce line from the Hobbs Brockunier Glass Co is the snowstorm pattern. I have owned maybe one or two examples of this glass since I have been in business. Those pieces were rubina, cranberry and clear glass with an outer layer of white craquelle. My reference stated that possibly other colors in this line were produced by the company. From the pictures in the book and the pattern on this uranium colored bowl, I believe it was produced by Hobbs.  Obviously, another company created the brass wash frame which fits and holds the bowl in place. There are no markings on either the frame or the bowl so I am unsure as to the producer of the frame.  The bowl stands 2 3/8” tall and 8 7/8” across the top. The bowl fits solidly in the frame and cannot be removed without damage to the frame. A most unusual example indeed!! Thorough all examination reveals no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. I see no damage or repair to the metal frame, albeit some areas of patina exist on areas of the metal.
