I know, time tables belong to school, but hear me out. As a co-founder you have meetings, I mean long meetings. The best way to plan the meetings is to know when and how long you are working on other things.
I have 2 calendars, one for meeting and scheduled team events. One for tasks I need to do.
Usually during the first week of each month, I create a time table. I put the time slots for different activity. Keep in mind this table is purely a suggestion and if an urgent meeting or works come on, it would take over this. I use google and outlook calendar so there is also a notification to remind me to stick with the schedule.
Here a sample of one week of my time table:
I will make a longer post later on the tools that helps with management of development, but here is some suggestions:
- Use Github or Gitlab, they help with keeping track of what is happening in your code
- Use Agile system and scrum techniques, i.e. Jira
- Use Google calendar
- Use team communication tools such as Slack!

Again going back to what I learned in school. Always take notes on every thing you do. During every meeting, take a short notes, write down what is due next meeting and who is doing what.
As a co-founder of a tech company, you read a lot of papers and book, I mean a lot!! Take as much as possible notes so that you don’t need to reread the same paper or book again. Also by sharing it with your team you save them some time as well.
Also comment and write note on your code, if you need someone to cone and help you, the comments will help them(Also you don’t need to book a long meeting to explain your code!)
Trust me, as a co-founder, it is easier not to take a break than taking one. You have to schedule some time to yourself. Some people, take a long hikes, some take a spa day, For me I try to schedule some do-nothing day, mostly Sundays. That doesn’t mean do nothing but means don’t schedule anything and go with what feels good. If I feel like coding, I code or if I feel like a long drive, I drive.
Also during the break take some time to do something for yourself. I usually go for workout in the morning or afternoon. I also take some French classes in the afternoon. I also try to join in weekly (online) meetups on Reinforcement learning topics. I also put them in my calendar so I don’t forget them and work on them.
Please let me know how you manage your time. Also I am always looking to improve my writing, if you see something that needs to be fixed or improved, do not hesitate to let me know.
