Whichever path you decide to take in life; you decide to so because, somewhere in your mind, an alignment of neurons lit up, and signaled to your consciousness— which path to take. If you are selection-ally challenged and went with both or neither, its OK; but just be aware, taking into account the non-static nature of biology, whenever you are faced with a question that elicits an “either or” thought process, your subconscious will default into a system of checks and balances to weigh the benefits of each option and ultimately come to an outcome. A value somewhere between: Maximal Pleasure and Minimal Pain.
The concept of Maximal Pleasure vs Minimal Pain is at the very core of decision making. Since the day we are born, every single decision that we make is made based on one of the two. You name it: Partying. Working. Traveling across the world. Having wild Sex. Or doing awesome Drugs.
Welcome to the Bias Value.
At a high level, bias is a conceptual framework that defines perspective and decision making. Bias, is the mechanism that shapes the likelihood of incorporating something into the sphere of our conscious existence. The bio-neurological counterpart, to a computer algorithm, that oversees how to come to consensus on what to do next. Just think of Bias as the protocol governing the choice.
Bias is the Rudder which directs, where on the spectrum of “Existential Decision Reasoning” you stride.
Of course this low bandwidth representation does not include the variations present in everyday life; each case will have its own severity for every situation.
What is incredibly interesting and important to note, is that; even as a framework, Bias, is subjected to a recurrent state of self. The “formula” which defines the Bias, is in fact organic and inclined to adaptation.
